SMTP Virus Scan Bypass

I have found that forwarding a message that has an infected zip file as an attachment ('Forward as attachment') allows the virus through, where forwarding the same message normally allows the virus scanner to search the zip file and find the virus.  The first message made it through Astaro without a problem, but was caught by the AV solution I have running on the internal mail server, while the second was caught before making it to the internal mail server.

I am using the latest version (6.001) with a full home-use license.

    Are you sure you forwarded a real harmfull virus? I just tested with eicar and my V6 GA fetched the virus successfully. Maybe you forwarded a virus which was already cleaned up by another instance and so is harmless now. The alert of the AV solution you have running on the internal mail server might be a false alarm.
