Mail wont forward to exchange server on 5.101

Ran 5.026 succecsully with no problems.

Upgraded to 5.101 and now incoming mail wont forward to the exchange server. Log file shows:

no host name found for IP address 192.9.220.3 (thats the ip of exchange server)

T=remote_smtp defer (-53): retry time
not reached for any host (for all incoming mail)

Added an entry in the /etc/hosts file so it can resolve to a name but no joy. Have not changed any SMTP settings as I belive all the new security features as switched off by default.

Out going mail works fine.

Any ideas anyone...?

The "no host name" is not an error. It should have happened
with 5.026.
Look for an real error message.....

Just double checked my 5.026 log file and no, I didn't get this error then.

Anymore ideas anyone?

Sounds like DNS resolution is messed up on the box; go to tools and try a ping by name of the Exchange server (both fully qualified domain name and just hostname).

Is there anything peculiar about your server name?
(underscores?)

I'll check it out but I did add an entry into /etc/hosts to take care of any resolution issues. Server is called seamonkey.

Bryan,

the error 'retry time not reached' appaers in the logfile, if your mailserver is not reachable for a certain time period. To fix this, just delete the files in the directory /var/chroot-smtp/spool/db. The retry.lockfile prevents that your mail are forwarded to your mailserver.
