Hogging WEED Process and HOME Lic

I have a setup using a home license that (3) WEED processes will consume ALL CPU when a HTML e-mail message with multiple images in it is scanned by the SPAM filter.

Being it is a home LIC I assume that WEED wouldn't run as weed  is the virus scanner?. I do have POP3 proxy turned on with spam control and when I turn that off all is well. It is repeatable any time this specific message passes through.

Also performance retrieving POP3 mail is dreadfully slow when SPAM is on. This machine is a p3 650 with 512 mb ram.

Any ideas?

    Weed is the whole content scanning framework. So not only virus scanning but also spam scanning. Since the Spam enginge improvement the scanning is slower because of a lot more checks which are done (razor, dcc, ....).
    So the described behaviour is normal.
