pop3 and smtp is outside network

hello,
i have problem configuring the pop3 and smtp
i have both server out side the network and we use outlook 2003 as a client for the mail server and i don't know how to configure the pop3 and smtp proxy setting to access mail at client end as well on the asl and i'm getting error when i will not sending any mail it will show us the outgoing reports ok but as well as we send mail it will report error and it wan't let me check my mail so please how could i configure the fire wall for proxy
and i'm using asl v4
my mail server looks like mail.xxxxxxx.xxx

    If your mail server is hosted by your ISP or a hosting company. You do not need to configure the SMTP Proxy. Disable the SMTP Proxy. In your Packet filter rules add:

    Allowed networks: Internal Network
    Service: SMTP
    Destination network: Any
    Action: Allow Low Priority


    As for your POP3 Proxy it is transparent. So all you need to do is enable it and configure the allowed networks like this:

    Allowed networks: Internal Network
    Destination: Any

    You do not want to have any any as allowed networks cause that will open up port 110 on the firewall and hackers then can exploit it.

     i have did as u said and i found that when i have supplied the ip of my service provider it will work fine but there is a problem with the smtp mean it will not able to send mail so can u please guide me what i have to do
    or what setting i have to change at my pc

    In your packet filter rules you need to define a packet filter to allow SMTP traffic from your internal network out to the internet.

    1. Add a new packet filter rule. 
    2. In the Source set it to = internal network.
    3. In the Destination set it to = any.
    4. In the Service set it to = SMTP.
    5. In the Action set it to = Allow Low Priority.
    6. Then click add rule.
    7. By default the rule is administrively down. You need to activate the rule.

    Then you need to deacitivate the SMTP Proxy as it is not needed.

    ye i got it 
    but still not working the smtp has error that unable to find server the server is working as without firewall it is working well 
    i didn't find the allow low priority in the action set as i'm using ASL V4 and the i have turn the green light on against that rule so i think there is diff. problem so please tell me if there is dependancy mean in support which services i have to enable and to "for your information  i have to supply my providers ip to pop3 to work mean i have to supply ip address in the outlook not with hostname that might help you to find the problem" 
    right now i have supplied the ip of the smtp and i also tried with the name. but i wan't work.

    If you have to supply an IP address to access your POP3 server, it sounds to me like you have a DNS issue. Astaro should be able to resolve the name to an IP addy. Is your DNS Proxy functioning. Also are you up to date with your system updates? Have you configured your DNS Proxy with your ISP's DNS servers?

    now the DNS is working as i'm able to retrive mail using the server name and even i tried to ping the unknown or never visited sites and it will now give me a ip of that site so i think it is working
    but still the smtp is not working i'm not getting what's the actuall issue is 

    and the IDENT is on in proxy and the forward connection is also on
    is i have to enable SMTP in the HTTP proxy allowed target service right now it is not in the list as we have created rules for it
    on pcs gateway is set to firewall and dns is set to firewall

    i hope so we will find some solution as i'm not using my server for outgoing mail from past few day's from when i was installed a firewall
