Problems with POP3 Proxy

I updated to ASL 5.1 earlier this week since then have started to experience problems with receiving POP3 mail. Initially it was only one email account so I raised a trouble ticket with the ISP. I have now started to experienece problems with all my POP3 accounts. When I turn off the proxy the problems disappear. Has anyone else experienced this problem since updating?

    I do not have spam detection or VP enabled. My machine is a Dell PIII 500Mhz with 512Mb ram and a 13Gb hard disk. I have looked at the POP3 log and there is nothing to indicate any problems. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? I am not having any other issues with the firewall.
    What appears to be happening is that the POP3 client is not establishing a connection to the ISP. I may get a connection once out of about 30 tries and then all email downloads. The ISP assures me that everything is working OK at their end and they told me they rebooted their mail server.
    I have tried increasing the server timeout and this had no effect. The problem occurs under both Outlook 2003 and Mozilla Thunderbird.
