This was discussed on another post; it might all be too much for some to get both the proxy and the rules configured; maybe not for you or me, but for many firewall novices. If you're a maniac (and I mean that in a complimentary way!), you can modify ipfilter.local to make sure SMTP is guarded by rules.
We're doing so many posts, recalling old ones is getting to be like a game of Solitaire with a thousand card deck...
