SMTP connections multiplied in 5.1

Since we upgraded to 5.1, our SMTP proxy is forwarding mails using one connection for each recipient, tho multiplying the connections to our internal server and generating a lot more logs than before
We aren't aware of any other changes done to the SMTP configuration

Is there anything we can do to make the SMTP proxy work "as before", using only one connection for each mail ?

    Thanks for that Tip, It was of a great help.
     A note to Admin,  Why don't you write this changes in your version logs, We should really be familiar with these featuresm, as some of us use this specific features and then spending days understand what has gone wrong.
