SMTP Verify recipient with Lotus Domino ?

Hi forum members,

i want to use the 'Verify recipient' feature for incoming mails in the SMTP proxy.
My backend mailserver is Lotus Domino (6.5.3).
I enabled the VRFY command in the servers configuration document but it doesn't seem to work.

Domino is picking up the message from the proxy and afterwards returning it, 
telling that the recipient was not found in the domino directory.

If i could activate it, i could save tons of undeferred content to spam mails sending from a nonexisting mailadress to random names on our domain.

Has anybody this combination up and running ?!

    No one using Lotus Domino and ASL ??
    Already searched notes.net but couldn't find something useful there ...

    So it seems they have their own 'standard' for the VRFY command  [:(]

    As far as I know Astaro doesn't use a VRFY command. For recepient verification ASL tries to deliever a bounce message for the local user. If your server returns an OK Astaro  disconnects form the internal server (of course without sending a bounce message) and accepts the incoming message. In case of receiving an error 550 user unknown astaro would reject it. Same procedure is used for callouts. You have to ensure that your Lotus rejects messages for unknown users.
