POP3 SSL and Virus Scanning?

My mail host just started providing SSL Pop3, which is a good thing, since I don't want my mailbox password going over the Internet unprotected. Unfortunely, it appears that with SSL turned on then the firewall's Pop3 proxy can't scan the emails for viruses. Is this correct? If so, is there anyway I can have both my pop3 password encrypted AND have my email messages scanned for viruses by the firewall?

no way - guess that you cannpt use the pop3 proxy at all anymore since SPOP often runs on different ports than tcp/110. If you want to use secured POP3 you'd have to byte into the sour apple and get a desktop virus scanner (you should have one anyway)

here's to hoping that Astaro can provide an uptodate that will see sslpop(not by port by by protocol traffic) and be able to interecept it..or allow an option for us to be able to tell the pop3 scanner where the SPOP is.
