SMTP Proxy File Extension Filter Astaro 5.026

Just tested a file named "dödel.com"... and it got blocked as expected (in the SMTP Proxy). Did you use the POP3 Proxy? What Filename did you use and what filter?

I tested a file named männerküche.mpe and it pass thru. Renaming the file in maennerkueche.mpe it got blocked as configured in the file extension filter in -Proxies - SMTP -Content Filter - File Extension Filter.

Ooops... an ä and an ü beats an ö....

The "dödel.com" is still blocked, but the "männerküche.com" goes thru ?!?!?  [:S]

that needs furhter investigation!

I think i found the difference between your Test and my Test...

I did my first Test (dödel.com) with my T-Online Webmail Account! When i tested your "männerküche.mpe" i used my Outlook 2000 on my Home-pc!

 Every Umlaut Attachment that comes from my T-Online WebMail got blocked... Those send by Outlook 2000 got thru !!!!! 
Outlook (2000) seems to handle those Attachements in an unexpected way.... 

What Mailer did you use for your Test?

The Astaro i tested is an 5.026 and the Testfiles were simple "ä.com", "ü.com", "ö.com", "ß.com" and an "Danger.com" (just for making sure somthing got blocked...)

forgot to add...

An "eicar.com" renamed to "ö.com" got blocked by the AV  
So it is only the File Extension Filter that needs some work...

i have talked to our Astaro Partner who has talked to Astaro...

Problem is known and they are working on it... so lets wait and see

just to update the Topic... The Issue ist still there with 5.100
