SMTP Proxy - SPAM Protection

I thought I would give the SMTP proxy a try to see how it would work for my company. I see in the smptp logs where the email is given a SPAM score, when it hits the WARN threshold the email subject gets modified but with a blank subject. Did I set something up wrong?

  • That should not happen.  What version of ASL are you running?  Could you post a screenshot/s of SMTP config?

    Please always post your current ASL version when posting questions.
  • Sorry, it is version 5.025. The only option I have on is  SPAM Protection (Level 3 WARN, Level 8 Reject). Here is the smtp log with some unecessary data removed:

    H=(web81010.mail.yahoo.com) [206.190.37.155] Warning: spam_score:4.2
    H=(web81010.mail.yahoo.com) [206.190.37.155] Warning: spam_threshold1 triggered
    me@sender.com H=(web81010.mail.yahoo.com) [206.190.37.155] P=smtp S=1346 id=20041020151945.24766.qmail@web81010.mail.yahoo.com
    => me@recepient.com R=static_exact T=remote_smtp H=192.168.2.5 [192.168.2.5]

    Any mail that hits the WARN level gets passed through to exchange with a blank subject line.

    I can provided screen dumps if you are still interested.

  • Suggest you email support on that one.  It *may* be related to the "header text appearing in body" error that some people are reporting.
