Exchange 200 and SMTP Proxy

Hi anyone and every one.

I've recentlty installed ASL 5.xx on a Poweredge rack server protecting an Exchage 2000 server running on Windows Advanced Server running AD.

I'm' not totally familiar with Excahge 2000 . Unlike 5.5, there is no Internet Mail Connector to point to the SMTP proxy. How does one do this in Exchange 2000?

I'm sure that's where my configuration is not correct to allow mail to get to and from the proxy.

Hello Brian

the SMTP or Internet Mail Connector is also available on Exchange 2000 and 2003!
You will find it by the routing group - but first you have to install it manual ;-)

Can you help me understand how to install or whether I have this installed?

I poked around and felt unsure of myself here. MS Knowledgebase didn't didn't help me much.

Is it an SMTP connector or Dirsync or what?
My mind is so used to 5.5 that I'm hesitant to continue. Fortunately this is just a test environment.

Yes it's an SMTP connector similar to exchange 5.5
Check on this Link:

It describes how to install the connector and you can also find out where you find the connector

THanks, but this seems to relate only to Exch 2003...
there doesn't seem to be a wizard of any kind for 2000.

Hi,
install SMTP protocol from your Windows2000 Server/2003 CD.

Then open System Manager and create new virtual smtp server

Here´s screenshot:
