scanning failed

  I upgraded to 5.023  and begin this  messages  in the log :

2004:09:20-11:40:42 (none) exim[1649]: 2004-09-20 11:40:42 1C9S9U-0000Qb-As malware acl condition: weed: scanning failed: ERROR ( )

  Astaro was unable to  received from my Exchange and  from Internet.
   I begining to disable some options ins SMTP config and nothing, upgarade the patters and disable-enable SMTP.

   After all that action Astaro begin to receive and transmited, but I 'don't know who resolve the situation.

   Someone have some idea about this error, I need to trust in Astaro and that don't help

Hi,

same problem here - Astaro V 5.026 - internal Mailserver is Exchange 2003. Any time i get the log entry "malware acl condition: weed: scanning failed: ERROR " the Internet Mail Connector looses connectivity to the astaro with the message: "Lost connectivity cause of a SMTP protocol event sink" (sorry: message translated out of german).
With maximum logging I receive the following event in Application Event log on the Exchange Server:

MSExchangeTransport
ID 4007
Fehler bei der Nachrichtenübermittlung an Host '192.168.x.x' während der Übermittlung an die Remotedomäne '[192.168.x.x]' aus folgendem Grund: Die Verbindung wurde aufgrund einer SMTP-Protokollereignissenke unterbrochen.
. Das fehlerverursachende SMTP-Verb ist 'quit'. Die Antwort des Remote- servers lautet ''.

Perhaps its simple coincidence but after the next virus pattern update it is possible to again establish a connection - before it was not possible.
