Blocked customer mails

Hi!

We've been using the ASL POP3 Proxy for a long time without problems. A while ago we also activated the SPAM filter.

Now the first mail form one of our customers has been blocked with a spam-score of 5.8. Since just increasing the treshold isn't my kind of solution, I want to know what went wrong.

After browsing a lot of Spam protection notification mails (thanx for not including the senders ID) I found the reason for blocking the mail to be an 4.3 score on FORGED_IMS_TAGS. What is the reason for this? The description isn't very helpful: "IMS mailers can't send HTML in this format". [:S]

Anyone can tell me what went wrong?
The blocked mail is just text, signature and one attachement..

    Is the sender using outlook?  This is a forged outlook header hit which spamassasin scores highly as spam.

    I'm not sure... But why would outlook create a header that's forged? That don't make sense...

    recent changes to outlook have changed how it creates headers that are of course non-standard..spam filters find this and key it therefore giving a higher spam score.

    But that makes a spam filter useless. Spamassassin scores this with 4.3 points! And 5 is the drop treshold. Worked fine till now! You can imagine the "Why is an important mail blocked?" questions of the related users. That relativises all the blocked SPAM mails...

    This is not spamassin's fault but MS for making a product that produces non-standard headers.  If i remember correctly there is a workaround..either STF here or google for it as i do not use Outlook and migrate all clients who are using it away if at all possible..[:)]

    Since I can't change our customers e-mail program, I'll have to deal with it on our side. Searched for infos already but didn't find anything that works... Put the customers domain on the spam whitelist but out POP proxy then went crazy. But that's another story...
