One of my ASL boxes that is running the POP3 proxy seems to be doing pretty well after the 5.11 update. With the following exceptions.
After the up2date it ran for three days and then the proxy failed. (clients reporting POP3 server couldn't be found same old stuff)
I restarted the POP3 poxy and everything seems to be fine. I did it in the following order. I turned off the SPAM filtering, turned off the virus detection, turned off the POP3 proxy, turned on the POP3 proxy, turned on the virus detection, and turned on the SPAM filtering. SPAM is getting filtered. It has been running for over a week now.
BUT, I get zero virus hits over the last week. The three days it was running after the 5.11 update this box would catch about 10 viruses a day in the POP stream. Now, I'd like to be an optimist, but my SMTP proxy on another box with similar user load is still pulling 10+ viruses a day. (Mostly Netsky.q)
Anyone else see this? Any hints on what process I should check to see if it has failed? Or is my POP3 traffic truly virus free at the moment.
