relay question

hi folks,

is there any way to use a smarthost for outgoing mails only for certain domains?

example:
i want to send mails directly but if someone wants to send to t-online.de or aol.com then the smtp proxy should use the smarthost.

    Hi!

    Did you try to write those 2 domains into incomming mail section of SMTP proxy and redirect it to that smarthost?

    But so you could allow to anyone sending mails to those 2 domain.

    wouldn´t i make my asl to an open relay for those 2 domains, with this action ?
    that´s not what i want. I want this just for senders from the interal network.

    Some time ago I was interested in a similar topic... and I've asked Astaro if it was possible to open the port 25 on the internal interface only and have it closed on the public one.

    The answer was that is not possible...

    The only thing I can suggest is to enable the forwarding of mail for those domain adding those domain in the allowed domains list and the host to which to relay... and on the same
    time enable call-out (recipient verification).

    Like this internal user can relay and the message is routed directly... of course people will be able to relay from your 
    public interface as well (only for existing accounts)...

    I don't think you will have a lot of traffic on your public interface 
    unless your IP is listed as one of the MX records for those domains...

    Since my guess is that you are not listed as an MX record
    (Otherwise you would want to relay) and since is not possible
    to query astaro for the domain it is serving... then nobody
    would know that you relay for those domain and if anybody
    would try to relay... the account is checked.

    A more secure option would be to add a secondary ASL box
    on your internal network and manage those relays from there...

    like i´ve told in another post i´ve fixed it already.
    my dyndns provider (selfhost.de) provides me their smtp relay for free.
    or i should better say i pay 1€/month for dyndns, smtp relay and mailspool
