Reject mail for unknown recipients?

Hi all,

I´m running V5 at a customer´s site with SMTP proxy enabled. As a huge amount of spam with nonexistent recipient addresses arrives every day, I´d like to reject  these mails right on the Astaro. Turning on RCPT verification doesn´t help because they have Exchange 5.5 as internal mail server which  accepts all mails before  user verification. AFAIK there is no way of changing this behaviour, even in Exchange 2000.  
Is there any way of configuring a RCPT whitelist via console or maybe some other solution?

    i am really not a MS expert but I guess that you have something like a catch-all account. You have to get rid of it to use receipient verification.

    Microsoft has something in Exchange 2003 (how conVENient!); maybe somebody makes an aftermarket product for 2000? Look at CDOlive or slipstick.com.

    What you're asking for is LDAP integration with Astaro's SMTP proxy. Does that exist in V5? I don't believe so. It would be nice (not just for Exchange -LDAP is a standard user directory interrogatory protocol).

    If you're a guru, careful, and responsible for what you do, you could add it yourself...

    I think the practical short term solution is to troll the Exchange boards to get a software add-on to do exactly what you want to do...
