SMTP connection timed out! No route to host!

my smtp mail decided to stop sending to some hotmail addresses!  I get a conneciton timed out. and No route to host. but it seems to send fine to anyemail@charter.net.  here is a partial log.

    Do you have a fixed IP address for your ASL box ?
    If not, and if you're using ASL SMTP proxy, just try to add a smarthost in ASM SMTP proxy setting.
    It will help you. Somme FAI refused mail coming from "unknown" SMTP realy (especially without a fixed IP address), that's for example the case with AOL  (at least in France).

    I know this behaviour from Qmail MTA. The MX lookup gives a higher output than the MTA can handle. For Qmail there´s a patch. For EXIM used on Astaro I don´t know. Try using a Smarthost.

    Exim on ASL will try a maximum of five addresses before TEMPORARY giving up on a message. It will try another five next time it routes the message.

    BTW, hotmail seems to have 4 MX entries with equal priority, and each of those A records return 4 addresses.

    This is what I get with smarthost!
