I can't connect to my pop3 server in the dmz when transparent pop3 proxy is enabled. The configured proxied networks is set to ANY - ANY. IDS enabled but no POP3 rules enabled.
I will try this : in pachet filter, add a rule "internal to pop-server-in-dmz, service pop, allow" and configure pop proxy as "dmz to any".
Only you internal pop server in dmz has to be allowed to retreive mail outside, all internal clients will only be allowed to get mail on your pop server in dmz.

have just found the same thing happening with mine. I'm hosting a pop3 server so that family members can have an address at my domain, and collect via pop3.
with the pop3 proxy enabled, connections to tcp/110 appear to just timeout. as posted in a different thread, i cannot find any pop3 proxy logs, so cannot really start troubloeshooting this currently, and have disabled the proxy [:(]
I'm running 5.007 and have tried all combinations of:
with and without a dnat entry with and without proxy
all works fine with the dnat and filter rules and no proxy, but no combination works with the proxy enabled.
I'll bounce the firewall when I get home and see if it comes back to life!
