ASG120 upgrade to v9.x - Root Partition is filling up

I have a ASG120 and have 2 RED10 deployed.  In trying to deploy RED15's, I ran in to an issue that looks like it requires an upgrade of the UTM to v9.3x.  I started the upgrade and got up to 9.004-33 and it stopped, generating the error "Root partition is filling up - please check".  I SSH'd into the /var/up2date/sys and removed all files except the 9.004029, 9.005015, 9.00605 and 9.007004 which says permissions denied (as if they are in use?) I have freed up space down to 45.62% free (versus 97% used).  How you kick off these remaining updates?  Once these are completed, will I have to manually update each package until I get to the current version?  After that time, I imagine I can re-enable the firmware and pattern download?  Thank you in advance.

  • To kick off those updates, as root, you could try:

    /sbin/auisys.plx --rpmargs --force

I would get Sophos Support involved though.  You're at 9.004-33, but it looks like there might be a version conflict with the existing 9.004 Up2Date file.  The ftp site lists several files for going from 9.004 to 9.005, but they aren't correctly named.

If you want to do this yourself, I would start with echo ' 9.004029'>/etc/version.  Then wget 9.004029-005015, 9.005015-006005 and 9.006005-007005 and use the command above to install them.  You then will be at 9.007-5, so you will want to do echo ' 9.007004'>/etc/version. Then wget 9.007004-100016 through 9.108023-109001, being careful to choose the files that sequence correctly.  I don't think you'll need to change the version again, but I would do the same steps through 9.2xx and 9.3xx.  Details of these procedures are covered in https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/52/p/29754/98380#98380.

PS Yes, V9.351 is required for the RED 15.  Don't go to 9.352 until we know that 9.353 is solid, and then do both Up2Dates at once.
