Sophos UTM installation issue on Dell R220 server // "No appliance hardware has been detected" on appliance hardware !!!

Hi to all,


I try to install Sophos UTM Home Edition on Dell R220 server with the lastest UTM 9.3 release (hardware appliance, baremetal version).

I put this iso (ssi-9.351-3.1.iso) on an USB key, i boot on it and press ENTER to launch the installation process.

It pass the hardware detection and says :

"No appliance hardware has been detected.

Please check your hardware and/or contact the Sophos Support Team"

I am suprised to receive this error message because i already check the hardware compliance and confirm with echange with person we have the same setup as me..

How can i know what is the blocking part ? Does it exist a workaround to for UTM installation ?

    The ISO with the name beginning with ssi "hardware appliance" version is for Sophos branded appliances only. For installation on either VMs or your own baremetal hardware, you must use the software version, that begins with asg. FYI, install from USB is not supported. Some people get it to work, others wind up with a failed install. The supported install method is burning the ISO to optical disk and using a CD or DVD rom.
