Updating ASG120 from v8 to v9 - not enought disk space

Hello all,

I have an ASG120 which was not maintained a long time and so the firmware was still on v8 (Astaro label). I updated the machine to version v9 using up2date. The Firmware version is 9.007-5 right now. The machine should use up2date to get to the latest version and in dashboard it looks like "45 Updates available". When I look to up2date there are no updates shown. Up2date log shows:

Up2Date failed: Not enough free space for '/var/up2date//sys'. Required space: 318026 KB Available space: 103564 KB; inodes: 317257

I think this is because the systems started the download of all 45 updates at the same time an now the disk is full.

I tried already to change to manual update and load the files per hand, but this is also not working because of full disk:

UP2date log:

id="371F" severity="error" sys="system" sub="up2date" name="Fatal: Could not extract tar from gpg: 'Not enough space to unpack package'" status="failed" file="/var/up2date//sys/u2d-sys-9.100008-100016.tgz.gpg" action="install" package="sys"

How can I clean up the disk to update step by step to the latest version?

Unfortunately the machine is productive at an office in spain (I’m in Germany) so a total reset is not possible for me.

Best regards

Matthias

  • @Chrizz: First turn off automatic downloading of Up2Dates, or the system will start redownloading them again on its' next up2date check, then do what Toast85 did. Delete from /var/up2date/sys in the shell.

    Another thing you can do is clear out some stuff. Old backups at Management > Backup/Restore > Backup/Restore. Archived logs at Logging & Reporting > View Log Files > Archived Log Files (also check the settings at Logging & Reporting > Log Settings > Local Logging). Mails Manager Quarantined Mail and the Database Log at Email Protection > Mail Manager > Configuration.
