I want to run it in tandem with my existing firewall/proxy/UTM (NetBox Blue) to do testing and see how traffic flows through etc.
I've read through this post (Fastvue Sophos Reporter Easily Evaluate Sophos UTM 9.3 Using Full Transparent Mode) about using a Bridged Interface & Full Transparent Mode to get this working.
I tried last night and couldn't get my old UTM (NetBox) to connect to the Internet. LAN traffic worked fine, could connect to both boxes etc. But no external traffic.
If I create a new Interface with the IP/Gateway of the details of my ISP & bypass the NetBox, it works. Sophos UTM see's traffic from the internet etc.
But I need to run it in Full Transparent Mode with the old NetBox Blue still allowing staff to logon as normal.
Have I got the Sophos UTM/Bridged Interface setup correctly, or am I missing something?
Setup is attached below. (Sorry for the horrible "network diagram")
Sophos UTM -
- Have a Ethernet Bridge Interface, with 2 NIC's selected. IPv4 Address of 192.168.0.37. Netmask of /24. No IPv4 Gateway.
- Internal Interface, IPv4 of 192.168.0.35. Netmask of /24. No IPv4 Gateway.
- Have got a Firewall Rule to Any-Any-Any to allow all traffic.
NetBox Blue (old UTM/Firewall/Proxy) -
- Have not changed anything on this device.
- It has an Internet Config of 119.220.x.x & default gateway of 119.220.x.y
- When I go into Link Info, it simply says it's not able to connect to Internet.
I'm pretty new to Sophos UTM, so apologies if this is not the right place/information.
