All boxes emailing Up2Date is ready every 6 hours

A couple weeks ago all boxes started emailing New Firmware Up2Date is ready for installation ever 6 hours.


Of course there are various reasons for delaying an upgrade on a particular box or group of boxes.


Is there a particular upgrade that is deemed so critical to nag so much?

Is this the new policy of reminders until the job is done?

Is there some way to change this behaviour?

    Well, has the application "Sophos UTM Up2Date" an unusual high bandwidth usage also? If yes, then the up2date function on your machine is not working properly.

    This started happening for one of ours too, an AWS AMI instance.  Ever since Monday (10/5) morning, we've been receiving three INFO-301 emails (one for each package available) every 1-6 hours (seems to be random how long it takes to resend them, but always within 6 hours and usually closer to 1 hour).  I checked the bandwidth usage logs per Aulendil's suggestion but didn't find anything unusual.

    We have these emails sent directly into our ticketing system, so it's getting very annoying and tedious to delete 50+ tickets a day.  We don't want to turn off the notifications since that will throw our whole maintenance process out of whack, but we also can't keep receiving this many emails every day.  Does anyone know why this is happening?

    Does disabling INFO-301 (under Up2Date) in WebAdmin->Management->Notifications->Notifications alleviate the symptom of these unwanted emails?

    Disabling the notification is not helping you. The firewall is downloading the updates again and again and again, what is causing the emails.

    Disable the up2date, restart the firewall, update to firmware 9.350, and enable up2date afterward again and the strange behaviour should be gone.
