9.350-010 Soft-Released

What does "Update AppCtrl engine" mean? Is this update useful if I do not have any AP's deployed or should I ignore it until the next update? 

I have it installed on my home UTM (no APs) but have not installed it on the UTM 120 in a friend's office yet. We have an AP-10 still in the box for the office, but it is not deployed yet.

AppCtrl is the application Control engine used under Network Visibility, nothing to do with Wifi [;)]

Just means the new firmware will be better to show new applications being used...

This is a paralell track once again.  The last time Sophos did this it was a nightmare.  Now with some fixes going to be in one track and others only in another track that means eventually they will merge back.  For some reason Sophos continually does things like this when they have a proven record if this going badly.  instead of making it a feature release adding things just roll it into 9.4.  Features can always wait.  Good high-quality fixes and stability improvements cannot.

I agree 100% with William. 9.35 is GA, so the package has been downloaded to our hardware & software UTMs. We have received the notifications.
As soon as this happenend, in the past it has been really complicated to install updates in the minor version path. We'd need some of the fixes in 9.317 and don't want to update to 9.35 already. So again manual upload & deletion of the already downloaded package from the cache as root?

We have done this with all customers, mostly because of the AP55's are useless with Apple devices, because of the "Spurious kickout" "bug.

Sophos is run by corporate clowns. 

This product is 10 pounds of horse crap stuffed in a 5 pound bag.

With each passing day and vulnerability the developers fall a little more behind the open source monstrosity that is the underpinning of this product. At the same time the corporate clowns demand that the their silly roadmap be shoved down our throats.

Another NEW parallel branch and WiFi is STILL not fixed...  

Once we have cycled out the UTMs in all of our customers business, we will NEVER purchase another product with the Sophos name on it. I reached my limit many months ago but am stuck for a few more years with a bunch of new SG units and some 1.5 year UTM models. 

FWIW: We have deployed several Ruckus and Aruba solutions. I am still on the fence as to which is easier, but both have been FAR superior to ANY of the crap that Sophos peddles.

when the next update of 350 is going to be released? I am already on 350 but needs the fixes which are on 317 -_-  and don't want to downgrade I don't have time for re-installing the iso again

this is why i stuck with 3.1x as they had mentioned that fixes in the 3.1x track would not all be in 3.5 as 2.5 was a feature release.  The last time they did this dual-track it wasn't pleasant.
