Will the home utm run from USB?

I have home utm installed on my hp n40l.... and a 250gb mechanical hard drive.

Because its on 24/7, i want to keep power usage down to a minimum. i was gonna buy a a small ssd, but before i do.... can i run the software via the internal usb port on the motherboard?.

    As far as I know, booting from a USB stick is not supported.

    The amount of money you'd save anyways is minimal. A regular drive draws 10W at most and an SSD draws around 2W. Running 24/7/365 @ $0.12kwh (US average), a regular drive will consume $12 in a year and a SSD $2. That's a couple cups of Starbucks at best. [:)]
