Home UTM on HP n40l

Hi Guys n Gals,

I've decided to install Sophos Home UTM on my spare HP n40l (6gb).

I have a second NIC installed and was going to install the software directly.

However whenever i've read about UTM being installed on a HP microserver, people seem to always be using it as a VM on VMware.

Why is this?

I plan to use;

WEB Protection
Network Protection
Managed WIFI (i have a ap50)
IPS
and endpoint protection.
