Hello!
A friend of mine has a ASG425 lying around that he was keen to sell me, and since I was looking for an x86 network platform to run open source network software on, I thought this could be perfect.
So, I don't need to use the ASG operating system, as I'm not interested in building a security gateway specifically.
Is is actually possible to install a generic Linux distribution like say Ubuntu or CentOS, or Fedora on a ASG hardware? I don't need the display to work or other specific hardware features, just to be able to use the NICs and maybe run Quagga on it and so on.
I thought that since it's basically an x86 server with hard drives, you could do it..?
Or are there any limitations on this?
I hope this can be useful for someone else as well!
Cheers!
