Use UTM330 Hardware license on Software appliance?

I have a new client that's having hardware issues on his UTM330. He has a full guard subscription until 6/2016. We would like to move the license to a VM software appliance but not sure if that's possible. Has anyone tried this yet?

A hardware license will not work with a software install. You will need to contact Sophos Licensing to discuss having it switched over. nsglicensing@sophos.com. Be aware that the costs will be different and software licenses are for a set number of users (IPs), not unlimited like hardware generally.

Hi, and welcome to the User BB!

To see how many IPs would be necessary, run
/usr/local/bin/count_active_ip.plx --showcount

Since you're new, I wonder if you don't have a configuration issue. Knowing this number would be an indication. In the meantime, you might see if #1 in Rulz gives any insight.
