Slow Performance on SG105 - Home UTM Version Faster?

Hey All-

I have a SG105 being used at home, it worked great when my internet speed was 24 meg.  Recently, I was able to get faster speed and am now at 300 meg.

With IPS turned off on my SG105, speeds get to around 160....IPS turned on the speed drops to around 75-80 meg.

My question is, if I move to the Sophos Home UTM version instead, will it be able to properly support this new faster speed?  50 IP's on that platform won't be an issue here at home.

Thanks

  • I just got my hands on a fresh new SG105w and wasn't able to install the 'software appliance' media to use my home user license. Instead I got the error that the astaro check failed and that the installer is incompatible to my hardwre bcos this installation media is only working on non sophos hardware. So what changed? I was running 'software appliances' media for use with home user license for years on my older asg120v3, asg120v4, asg120v5 and my current utm120v5 without any of those warnings coming up during installation. Any idea how to fix this mess and install the software appliance on this sg105w? And does anyone know whether the 'software appliance' recognizes the internal wifi card? And if not is there any trick to install a home user license on the SSI ('hardware appliance') OS which came installed (i.e. by altering a system file)?
