OT - Install XP on old ASG120 -need nic drivers

Hello:

Bet this wins the strange question of the month award?

Have bunch of decommissioned ASG120 (Rev 2) boxes that I would like to use to run a companion Radius server. (until local authentication is added)

Am able to get XP installed but need drivers for the NIC.

Any suggestions?

can you paste the PCI Ven ID und dev id?

you can find them in: start -> run -> devmgmt.msc // or open up device Manager, navigate to the NIC (might be "unknown device")
go to last tab "info" and select "Hardware id"

with this vendor and device id you can identify the chipset easily

Hello:

UTM reports it as Intel Corporation 8255xER/82551IT Fast Ethernet Controller
and PCI Device ID: 0x1209:0xffff

Windows says....
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1209&SUBSYS_FFFFFFFF&REV_10
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1209&SUBSYS_FFFFFFFF
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1209&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1209&CC_0200

I guess I could trial and error a bunch of generic Intel drivers.
I just thought that someone may have gone through this excercise.
