I3 or modern atom?

Hi,
I have used astaro home utm for a few nears now and want to change the hardware it's on.

I don't need vpn, but do want proxy/content filtering , av, firewall and ids. Our home cable speed is up to 50mbps.

There a 6 devices on the network which could require connectivity at once. Would 2gb of ram with a new atom be enough or do I need an i3?

If you want to keep the same machine for awhile, I would get one of the newest dual-core i3s with AES-NI. Once you start trying IPv6, you will need that with your download speed. William has a lot of great ideas about hardware, so I would urge you to spend some time googling site:astaro.org/gateway-products/hardware-installation-up2date-licensing William, limiting the results to the last two years.
