Home Use Swap Interfaces

I have a home UTM set up with eth0 as the external interface and eth1 as the internal interface. The management interface is on eth1

I now want to swap enternal and internal interfaces, as my motherboard's IPMI features can only be accessed using eth0, and I need to make this an internal interface

Logging to the management interface using WebAdmin, can I simply delete the existing interfaces, select eth0 & eth1 and assign them to desired interfaces? My concern is that if I delete both interfaces, will the management interface still work?

Is this method OK or I use another method instead?

    if you delete both interfaces no you will not have access to the machine at all.  The best way to do this IMO is to make a config backup..throw in a third nic...then reinstall and restore your config backup.  Once that's done then you can log in and then change the wan interface to the third interface and then you can change the management interface to where you want it to be..[:)]

    I am using a ITX board in a 1U case, and are using the 2 onboard NICs. I don't have space for a third NIC

    I had hoped that the management interface would remain live after eth0 and eth1 were deleted

    I can always reinstall but I only wanted to do so as a last resort

    simple trick:
    - Activate WIFI
    - Create a "separate zone" wifi
    - et voilà, you've got a (virtual) wlan0 NIC, which you can mis-use to temporary set one interface to that NIC and switch what ever you want to switch

    I've used that little trick many times [;)]
