Just installing my first SG230 on-site (transitioning from an ASA5510) and wanted to ask a couple of basic questions if I could. The SG230 is inplace, connected and working pretty well, just need to 'fine tune' a couple of things.
1. I cannot RDP out to outside clients. I'm guessing some NAT rules need to be created but I don't think I am getting the format correct. Just to re-iterate - I am RDPing OUT to external sources. I have RDP coming in fine [;)]
2. I cannot connect to my WHM/Cpanel account. It connects to the hosting website on port 2086 and I gather its a similar issue to 1. above.
3. Testing MXtoolbox on my domain, getting the "SendSMTPCommand: You hung up on us after we connected. Please whitelist us. " message and a result of 'may be an open relay'. I've added an exception for their email address supertool@mxtoolbox.com with no success
4. Lastly (for now), my rDNS on my static ip points to the hostname of my Exchange Server, lets call it owa.domain.com the hostname of the SG230 is Sg230.domain.com, before I log in and change it at my ISP I just wanted to confirm that I should have:
a. an A record for Sg230.domain.com pointing to my static IP at my host
b. change the rDNS on the Static IP to: Sg230.domain.com
Cheers for any answers/suggestions - most things seem to be running ok so far (24 hours in), fingers crossed they stay that way!
