RED 50 Installation

Ali, if the RED is configured to direct all traffic to HQ for Web & Network Protection and the SG 310 goes offline, then the branch will lose internet access.

The larger problem is that all of the branches are on the same subnet.

Have you already purchased the RED devices for the branches?

Yes, but it is also considered WORST practice to do so.  Similar to trying to have remote access VPN clients on the same subnet as LAN.  Better to have each branch on it's own subnet.

Marc, in fact, this is one of the reasons to use RED - it's, in effect, just a long Ethernet cable on a virtual interface. Coach story

If he does bridge all 4 branches with HQ's "Internal (Network)," then he just needs to define the subnet as something different to force any device with a fixed IP to get new one.  Since subnets in 192.168.0.0/16 are used often in homes and public hotspots, he should choose a subnet in 172.16.0.0/12.  I usually recommend that subnets in 10.0.0.0/8 be used only by large organizations and ISPs.

I was afraid that he was thinking about letting the branches each stay on their current IP range.

First, i need to thank you for your replies.

actually i have no problem to change my network subnets. but my serious and critical problem is to lose my internet connection behind RED with i lose internet on my SG
