DNS issues

Hi,

After updating to the last update available from 9.2.xx when the web filter starts dns does not work.

Setup is in bridged mode and DNS sits on one of my internal VLANS.

When I turn off web filter everything works again.

Anybody have any suggestions ?

    What are your DNS settings? You say it all works when web filtering is off, so you must have a firewall rule allowing web browsing as well.

    Also, is Web Filtering in Standard mode?  If not, then I suspect the issue is something other than DNS.  What makes you think your issue is DNS?

    As I mentioned, I am running in bridged mode, forgot to mention that I am in full transparent mode.

    The reason why I think the problem is related to resolve issues is when Web filter is off everything works.  When its on, only HTTPS works, since I dont filter.

    My DNS server is able to resolve no problem and it sits on a different box on my network.

    When I try to browse normal HTTP nothing works.  Also, I noticed no email was sent since my upgrade !!! lol thats not a very good thing, I also have configured a SMTP relay on my sophos UTM, it must be related to the same thing....


    Also, take note that I have not touched any configuration on the sophos UTM in months!!! 
    So yes, its related to the upgrade!
