    25 Mbps

    Current Number of PC's:  6 (5 Windows + 1 Linux)

    Number of Users:  2

    User #1:  Web Surfing, Some YouTube videos (usually 480p), etc.

    User #2:  Limited Web Surfing, Heavy YouTube (usually 480p), etc.

    I use at home (and by my brother) a:
    PC Engines APU.1D4 system board (T40E / 2GB / 3 GigE / 2 miniPCI express / mSATA / USB / RTC battery)
    with a 60GB msata SSD

    here ist the link to the newer 4GB model

    - Internetconnection is 125/10MBit
    - IPS and Webfilter are disabled (Internet was too slow, when i activated it)
    - 1 IPSec Tunnel 
    - Mail-Filter activated (for testing)
    - Webserver Protection activated (for testing)
    - has no monitor output
    - its cheap (at least in Switzerland)
     -PCs? 2-6

    That CPU is too slow. That's why you had to disable the IPS.

    The older Atoms have very limited IPS throughput; mine gets 17mbps with http traffic through the IPS, and I'm not running the Content Filter or AntiVirus.

    I'd recommend something faster; you can get a new Celeron (new Atom Silvermont) board+CPU cheap, and it should be able to handle around 100mbps, or you can get an i3...

    The Avoton board linked above has 8 Silvermont cores; will still peak around 100mbps for a single user. It's also somewhat expensive, but probably does have good NICs. iirc, SuperMicro has an Avoton board also.
