Config does not sync in HA after Update

Hello everyone,

we have two Sophos UTM 9 hardware appliances with HA running in active-passive-mode.

I updated the active node from 9.210-20 to 9.307-6. After this I received many phone calls that our wifi networks were suddenly very slow. After some investigating I decided it was better to activate the passive node with the old firmware-version and shutdown the updated node.

I then had to create some new networking-objects and a new firewall-rule on the former-passive (and not updated) node.

Now that I had time to further investigate the issue with our wifi I switched on the updated node again. After this HA actived this node as the master.

I then realized that the newly created objects and firewall-rule were missing.

Now the question: Is this expected behaviour?
Is there a way to copy/restore the changes from the old node to the updated one?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Mark

  • Hi, Mark, and welcome to the User BB!

Yes, this is expected behavior and is consistent with the Help related to the 'Keep node(s) reserved during Up2Date' selection.

No, you cannot copy portions of the configuration from one UTM to another.  You can click on Management in WebAdmin and see the changes made in recent sessions.

In your situation, I would reread the Help and think about your next step.

    Cheers - Bob
