ZTE MF823 4G Dongle

I have one of these and whilst its recognized on bootup by the Kernel it doesnt show in the UTM home .  Im running 9.307 6 

Id quite like to get this working when my new hardware arrives in a few days.  Does anyone have any experience or can you suggest an alternative route for me.  Im using the Three UK network as its the only one offering me 4G at he moment.

    ErringC to confirm when you go to create a new Interface under 3G/UMTS does the hardware have the ZTE usb modem or does it have :[:P]lease select:: still?

    The dongle is not shown at all in UTM.  When I go into New Interface there is no hardware listed for 3G/UMTS at all.

    You can you issue this from the command line/SSH:

    lshw -C network

    And you'll see all the "recognized" NICs on your UTM. Recognized does not means supported. Unsupported item are generally marked with a *disabled term somewhere..

    OK.  So here is the info as best I can.  Both this PC and the firewall share a screen, so typed blind so to speak:

    It looks like its disabled - so perhaps unsupported.

    Its PAYG - would no credit be an issue in terms of the setup ?

    I thought overnight - Since its showing as ethernet - does it need to be plugged in at installation time like other NICs ?

    We had most success with cradlepoint.com devices, it handles the dongle and gives you ethernet...

    My requirement is to get a public Ip address from a 4G source on my Sophos UTM home.  It will be a backup, and I cannot have double NAT

    I had same problem, found my ZTE dongle wasnt on support hardware list and so no go.

    Is there any more news regarding this device? I too have one of these and I would love to see it working with the UTM. This is the final thing that keeps me from retiring my old router.

    This must surely be one of the most common 4G USB dongles  in Europe, almost every operator seems to be offering it.
