HA Hot-Standby with STP enabled switch ?

Hi,

Does anyone have experience or advice with HA Active/Passive cluster implementations with  Spanning Tree Protocol enabled on the switch (LAN) ?

My plan is to connect UTM interfaces in this way:

- LAN - both connected to the Cisco switch with STP enabled.
- WAN - both connected to simple L2 switch.
- ETH3 - crossover cable.

Is there anything that I should be concerned about ?

  • Hi.
I have installed 2 Utm 220 in A/P configuration almost 2 years ago.
Both Utm are connected to 2 lan switch with 2 nics each (for failover purpose) with LACP enabled too.
    No stp is enabled.
Everything works great with no issue.

If you need more info, ask!!!
