HA Hot-Standby with STP enabled switch ?

Hi,

Does anyone have experience or advice with HA Active/Passive cluster implementations with  Spanning Tree Protocol enabled on the switch (LAN) ?

My plan is to connect UTM interfaces in this way:

- LAN - both connected to the Cisco switch with STP enabled.
- WAN - both connected to simple L2 switch.
- ETH3 - crossover cable.

Is there anything that I should be concerned about ?

  • Answer from the Sophos Technical Support:
The UTM is equipped to work with STP, as long as that part is configured correctly it should work without issues.

I will post my experience from the field on the next weekend, when implementation is scheduled at a customer site.
  • i think you will have no problems cause you do not realy have a STP domain.
