new install - theory and questions

so I have successfully built and installed a small system with some old parts and a few parts I had around...

install was flawless, and the system is up and running and ready to be connected into the mix

I am thinking I want to isolate the wifi (since it might be a weak point)

and making the network look like this.

cable -> (1NIC) SOPHOS UTM (( 3 NICS ))

so the question is, does isolating the wifi access point from the rest of the network by placing the UTM physically in this position afford any additional protection from wireless intruders??

Is this a valid logic?
