ASUS N900 Router Inaccessible

Hi there,

I just hooked up a new ASUS N900 wireless router at home and configured it in Access Point mode and am fully able to access the internet and all of my devices are receiving ip's from UTM.  The UTM webadmin is also fully accessible, however I am completely unable to access my ASUS router.  I know that it has a dynamic IP address but when I try to browse to it I get a network timeout. 

Have you guys seen this before? Does the ASUS interface become inaccessible once placed into AP mode?

    I ran in this mode for about a week whilst waiting for a replacement access point.  The router interface was available on the relevant IP address.  I plugged the router into one of the lan ports from the router and then into my switch.  The WAN port was disconnected.  Also I disabled DHCP on the router just to ensure it wasn't going to start handing out IP addresses.

    If you have a wireless client do they get an IP address from the UTM?

    Yup, its gets the IP from the UTM and UTM sees my laptop and the router IP but it wont allow me to get access to the ASUS GUI.  I was plugged into the WAN port on the ASUS from the UTM and using the 4 LAN connections for hardwired devices. I wasn't doing the LAN>LAN trick, putting the router in AP mode allowed me to use the WAN port. Are you thinking I have to use the LAN ports even in AP mode?

    The router also has a media bridge mode, but I don't think that is a true bridged mode it made it sound like it needs another router to make that work, so I didn't use "Media Bridge"

    Hi,

    Yup it should only work with the LAN ports and not the WAN port.  You can't plug anything into the WAN port in this mode.

    Even though it was allowing the UTM to hand out IP's wirelessly and was working?
