New instalation missing ethernet card

Hello to all.

Yesterday my firewall died, so I replaced old firewall with new computer in which I install D-Link DGE-528T gigabit ethernet card.
I try to install ASG 9.304.9 to new computer when suddenly installation tell me that I have only one card (broadcom giga ethernet which is onboard ethernet).

When I look on HCL list (HCL list) the missing card is listed in that document (DGE-528T Gigabit Ethernet Adapter By D-Link System Inc Network 0x4300 r8169).

Do you have any idea why ASG cannot find my ethernet card. [:@]
Is there any way to install it manually (some examples maybe?)

Best regards,
  Robert

  • I think that HCL is for version 9.001 --- 9.3xx may well not include built in support for some NICs.  You'll need to try another NIC (I recommend Intel).

  • Be aware that some Intel's have known bugs, see if you could find some Broadcom also.
  • Well I don't think that I fill find any Intel or Broadcom ethernet. Maybe there I can find one on eBay. What about RTL chipsets? I read somewhere that they are slow? In previous (old) computer there were 3x RTL 100Mbit card (can't use those because new computer is Low Profile), I didn't have any troubles with them.

    Best regards,
