So I've been gifted some old servers from work that have been retired! The one I intend to use as a UTM is a 2x dual core 2GHz system with 24GB RAM, a two port Gigabit NIC and a two port HBA [:D]
During installation I was given the option to pick one of four interfaces for web mgmt. Four? Cool, I must have missed an add on card is what I was thinking...
After the installation completed, I rebooted and connected a cable to NIC1 and connected that to my laptop. Set my laptop up with 192.168.0.2 IP & g/w of 192.168.0.1 then tried browsing to https://192.168.0.1:4444, the mgmt page, but it just timed out and no ping response. Hum...OK, I thought, I must have used the wrong NIC, so I tried the other NIC on the server, but same result [:S]
Got looking a little closer and I'm thinking that HBA isn't an HBA, it's a fiber NIC, doh! I must have selected one of the fiber NIC ports...! [:$]
Short of reinstalling and choosing the right NIC, is there a way I can log onto the console and change the NIC from CLI at this point?
TIA!
