system memory

I just re-installed UTM 9 Home on some newer hardware:
3ghz Core 2 Duo socket lga775
4 gb ddr3 ram
Version 9.305-4
Everything is back up and running but I noticed at the Dashboard --> Resource Usage --> Ram only shows 3.3 gb of memory. The BIOS sees 4 gb of memory.
Anybody have a reason for this?

As William alludes to, I'm guessing you installed as 32-bit, which is highly inefficient with RAM more than 3GB and cannot use 4GB+.

To resolve, take a config backup and save it to your workstation. Reinstall from ISO, making sure to choose 64-bit install. Apply your config backup post install.

That was it....I re-installed with 64 bit and now its showing 3.9gb ram...some is allocated for onboard graphics...I created my own bottleneck choseing 32 bit on the first install...I was unaware of the 3gig barrier with 32 bit. Thanks for the help
