Update UTM525 from 9.209 to 9.304?

Hi. I have an ASG 525 cluster running 9.209, and I want to get to 9.304. Right now, the only Up2Date that shows is 9.210, and I don't want to go to that because this firewall handles our SMTP traffic, and I can't risk breaking it. What's my best way to get from 9.209 to 9.304?

As far as the SMTP issues of 9.304 go, I am in "Simple" SMTP mode with no SMTP profiles defined, so my understanding is that 9.304's issues won't apply to my situation.

Hi,

Sophos pushes up2dates to different appliances at different rates.

If you can't wait, you can download the updates manually.

With that in mind, I'll just wait a while to see when they push down a clear Up2Date path from 9.209 that puts me in 9.210 for as little time as possible.

Brian, you can do manual downloads at the command line.

Start by setting 'Firmware download interval' to "Manual" on the 'Configuration' tab of 'Up2Date' and then, as root at the command line:
cd /var/up2date/sys
wget ftp.astaro.com/.../u2d-sys-9.210020-304009.tgz.gpg
wget ftp.astaro.com/.../u2d-sys-9.304009-305004.tgz.gpg
/sbin/auisys.plx --showdesc

Then, install in WebAdmin when you're ready, either choosing 'Update to the latest version now' or scheduling the 9.305-4 Up2Date that will automatically schedule the others. In any case, there will only be a single reboot and the process should not cause any problems with the SMTP Proxy except that it won't be online during the reboot. Afterwards, set 'Firmware download interval' to whatever you want.

The SMTP issue only came from not using the "base profile" on the 'Global' tab, but only configuring Profiles.
