Uplink Slow through Firewall

Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with the uplink on a UTM 120 firewall. The problem is that the internet connection 70 MBit down and 20 MBit up. If I connect directly to the modem of the line I get the full speed. However, once the firewall is handling my connection my speed drops to 20 down and 20 up.

I have already checked settings on the internet router and the firewall. MTU size on the firewall interface has been adjusted to be the same as on the router. There are no QoS settings enabled or anything similar.

Does anyone have any hint for me? What could I possibly miss here?

EDIT: I have now disabled the Intrusion Prevention and found that this seems to be the limiting factor. Is this because the IPS on the UTm120 boxed cannot handle more than 20MBit?

    Since Version 9.2 IPS should be able to handle much more throughput on a Rev.5 UTM120 (the white one). The trick is to disable the filebased checks in the advanced IPS settings, only choose required attack patterns and set timestamps in the patterns to your updating behaviour (as 6months, 12 months etc.)

    Older 120 boxes than R5 will suffer from massive performance drops due low memory of only 1GB.
