Install Error

Im trying to install ssi-9.209-8.1.iso on my Dell Optiplex GX520.

Immediately at boot the following error is displayed at the terminal:

----------------------------------------
Could not find ramdisk image: initramfs.gz
boot:
----------------------------------------

I can see the "missing" file under ssi-9.209-8.1\isolinux\initramfs.gz on the CD.

What's going on? Thank you for your help!

ftp://ftp.astaro.com/UTM/v9/hardware_appliance/iso/ssi-9.209-8.1.iso? That is for Astaro/Sophos hardware appliances.

Try an appropriate iso for non-Sophos hardware such as ftp://ftp.astaro.com/UTM/v9/software_appliance/iso/asg-9.209-8.1.iso

I tried doing what you said, I still get the same error message. I still have an old asg v8.1 disc that works with no problems. I'm puzzled.

Sounds like you still are using the SSI image, which will NOT run on your DELL, sure you have tried the the ISO listed by Teched?

It was indeed the asg, not the ssi version that I tried.

asg-9.209-8.1.iso

Any other ideas anyone? Bueller?

Last week, I had a similar issue. Re-Burning the ISO with lower speed helped here... :-/

I had this issue also, did just not lower the speed, but made a second copy [:S]

You can also try from usb stick:
