Access points for Home license

Hi,

1. 
a. the Sophos APs are managed from within the UTM's WebAdmin.

b. they have features such as bridge to VLAN and the ability to run multiple SSIDs on multiple isolated networks; e.g. you can run a Guest WiFi on the same AP as your internal/private WiFi, with isolation between.

Some other APs can do this (from within their own interface and/or by re-flashing them with DD-WRT, Tomato, etc.)
If the AP is VLAN capable, you can set it up and trunk it to the UTM; then you'd control the VLANs from the UTM.

2. Yes; the home license supports all WiFi features (up to 50 IPs)

I have the AP30, but it's quite a bit more expensive than the comparable Engenius or Trendnet AP (which do have multi-SSID and VLANs). 
The AP30 is B/G/N no AC and it's possibly not as fast as some of the better 3x3:3 N MiMo APs (it doesn't have gigE for one).

Sohpos is coming out with a couple new models: AP15 and AP100; I don't see pricing on the AP15 but the AP100 looks very expensive for home use.

You can look on CDW for the prices; note the PoE models such as the AP30 and AP50 are sold with and without a PoE injector (power supply).

Summary: for home use, if you understand VLANs, you can do everything yourself with a VLAN capable AP.

AP15 is priced same as AP10 - 130€.

There is an error in the table in that link, AP15 comes with 2 external, and AP30 with 2 internal antennas.
